This glass vase started life as a sphere which was then twisted, deformed and subpatched.The metal pieces were created by copying and offsetting strips of polygons, with some manual addition of polygons to form a closed shape. The scene is lit with an area light which does not affect the caustics, which are provided by a separate point light.
