Laboratory

My laboratory is based in the School of Chemistry at Cardiff University. We have a synthetic chemistry laboratory, with most common apparatus - fume hoods, Rotavaps, vacuum line, standard glassware, Kugelrohr, Radleys carousel reactor, solid phase synthesis manifold and analytical HPLC.

We also have equipment for molecular biology, including PCR machine (96 well gradient block), electroporator, incubators, centrifuge and electrophoresis apparatus with digital gel documentation system. We have a BMG Labtech FLUOstar Omega plate reader which allows measurement of full UV/vis spectra, as well as filter based fluorescence and luminescence. The instrument is fitted with dual reagent injectors.

We also make use of the School facilities for mass spectrometry (MALDI, ESI) and NMR spectroscopy.
