Jardins du Trocadero

Left: The Jardins du Trocadero, viewed from the first floor of the Eiffel Tower.

Below: The Jardin des Tuileries. I believe that this is named after tile factories which used to stand on the site. The Louvre can just be seen in the background.

Below: The Jardin du Luxembourg, with the Palais du Luxembourg. Beautifully tended flower beds, a pond and sculptures make these gardens perfect for a gentle stroll.

Jardin des Plantes

The Jardin des Plantes (right), or botanical gardens, showcases herbs, food crops, decorative plants and alpine species. Unfortunately the tropical greenhouses were closed for renovation when I visited (2005).
