Continuing in a westerly direction down the other side of Sugarloaf leads to the village of Crickhowell.

Heading south through the village of Llangattock followed by a steep climb brings one to a path along the cliffs on the limestone escarpment.

The area is popular with cavers, and is home to some of the longest cave systems in the country.
